Drue Williams<\/strong>, a native Detroiter, has a bachelor of arts in theatre from Michigan State University with design as a minor cognant.She also received an associate in applied science degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, majoring in textile and surface design with a specialization in screen printing.<\/p>\n<p>Her work is being exhibited at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Drue\u2019s work has been on exhibit at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, National Black Theatre, Nathan Cummings Foundation Gallery, Fashion Institute of Technology Museum, FIT\u2019s Nature of Design show, Directions show, International Fashion Fabrics Exhibition and Access Theatre Gallery in New York. She has participated in the Detroit Festival of the Arts, \u201cVisions of Spring\u201d at Patti Smith Collectibles and various showings at the Spirit in the Park Gallery in Detroit.<\/p>\n<p>Among other graphic art projects, she has been commissioned to design theatre posters for Michigan State University and the Eye on Directors Festival in New York. In addition to designing posters for the H.A.D.L.E.Y. Players, a variety of her finished works were featured in the AUDELCO-nominated set design of \u201cGuest of Central Park West.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She has taught art classes for Harlem Textile Works, Children\u2019s Art Carnival and New Ensemble Theatre Company.<\/p>\n<p>In 2006 and 2007, Drue was a grant recipient of the Urban Artist Initiative\/New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Also an accomplished actor, Drue has performed at The Public Theatre, New Federal Theatre in New York and the National Black Theatre Festival in North Carolina, among others. As part of the ensemble of the H.A.D.L.E.Y.
